What in the World is Going on at Link Church?
I have been attending church for my entire life, literally. There has never been a season in life when I was not actively involved in a Pentecostal church. My church experiences have not always been good, nor have they always been bad. People aren’t perfect, so wherever people are found, there are bound to be imperfections. Nonetheless, I have always been thankful to be part of Christ’s church.
Still, 2023 has been unlike any season I’ve previously lived through. Someone recently suggested to me that if your church is too big, it probably isn’t a real church. I’m curious, what does a real church look like then? Perhaps the individual was only speaking out of hurt and frustration, but I often wonder why believers are sometimes so quick to criticize each other rather than to build each other up. Our goal has never been to be big, but we do want to be healthy, and in nature…healthy organisms tend to reproduce. In the fall of last year, there were around 180-200 worshippers at Link Church on any given Sunday morning. God was moving, and lives were being transformed, but then a wave of revival hit. I don’t know any other way to describe it. This year alone, over 200 people have come to faith in Christ at our Clarksville location alone, with Sunday morning attendance swelling to between 400 and 450 people. What in the world is going on? I’m glad you asked.
Maybe it’s the Worship?
There is something insanely intense about the way that people worship when strongholds are broken every week. Our worship services are intense and demonstrative, but there’s nothing fabricated or hyped up about them. The passion and intensity flow from a place of overwhelming thankfulness for what God is doing in people’s lives, both in and out of church.
Maybe it’s the Smiling Faces?
When you first arrive on the property, located at 2424 West Clark Rd., you are met by a team of people whose greatest desire is to let you know that you are welcome and accepted here. As a matter of fact, they don’t even wait until you get to the door. When you pull onto the parking lot, you will be greeted by men, women, or children that can help you find a parking place, and if needed, help you get in the door.

Once you get inside, you’ll be greeted by more people that are glad to help answer any questions you may have. If you look to the left when you enter the foyer, you will see the Link Center, where Serve Team members are ready to help get kids registered for Link Kids, nursery, or pre-k and to help with any needs you may have as a first-time guest.
If you look straight ahead when enter, you will notice the hospitality center, where there is free breakfast and coffee each Sunday morning.

Maybe it’s the Prayer?
Jesus said in the New Testament that His house would be called a house of prayer. At Link Church, we take prayer seriously. When service begins, it won’t be long before the opportunity is given for others to pray with you. Every single Sunday morning, Pastor David gives a call for anyone needing prayer to come forward while the worship team continues singing and before preaching begins. One of our family values is that we never do anything alone that we can do together. Among other things, that means that no one has to pray alone.
Multiple generations gather to pray together, and together our family trusts God for miracles.

Maybe it’s the Preaching?
Every Sunday, the Word of God is preached in a way that speaks to us right where we are in life. Sunday messages at Link Church are not theoretical. They address where we live, what we are going through, and how Jesus wants to step into the middle of it all. Our leaders believe in knowledge on fire. We value truth and Spirit. As the Word of God comes alive, individuals and families are equipped to live Godly, fruitful lives.
Sunday morning preaching, Wednesday Bible studies, and Link Kids and Teens, along with other discipleship opportunities supply consistent opportunities to learn, to grow, and to be transformed by the power of God.

Maybe it’s the Hope of Salvation, the Freedom, and the Miracles?
It makes no difference what has happened in your past. Link Church is a place where people encounter Christ, where sins are washed away, where lives are transformed, and where the overwhelming freedom that flows from the Holy Spirit energizes the entire atmosphere! The gifts of the Spirit flow freely. Depression is conquered, people discover their purpose, and diseases lose their victory as the name of Jesus is exalted.
Standing in unison with Christ-followers of all ages, new converts are baptized in water. As they emerge from the baptismal waters, we rejoice together, declaring with the songwriter Zahriya Zachary, “the enemy thought he had me, but Jesus said you were mine!”

Come and See!
When Jesus first encountered those who would later become His disciples, He simply said, “Come and see” (John 1:39). I give that same challenge. Come and see what Jesus is doing. Not long ago, someone asked if I thought people would judge them because they came from a background of addiction. I smiled and said, “At least a third of our congregation did as well. Come join us.” Our struggles may vary, but our need for Christ is the same. Jesus said,
“Come to Me, all you who labor and are heavily burdened, and I will give you rest” (Matthew 11:28).
If you’re tired, come and see. If you’re burdened, come and see. If you’re weighed down by the reality of sin, come and see. If you need healing, come and see. We are waiting on you to join our family. Most every week, someone new is set free from the power of sin. Demonic strongholds are broken, families are healed, and hope becomes reality. Come and see.
