With each month comes a new sermon series theme. We join together each Sunday to listen and learn on the theme that Pastor David had laid on his heart (months in advance). What most may not know, however, is that the music is also prayed over and believed for to engage the congregation in a worship setting that is fitting, and of course, what the Lord has directed. Every time the songs hit just perfectly to the message, I can’t help but stand there in awe, knowing that the plan has been executed just how He wanted it.
The Lord equips us with the anointing to get up there and sing our hearts out and create an environment of praise. So, picture this...(my point of view, literally) standing on the stage and it’s Sunday morning and the place is filling up! Then, Pastor Mike steps up on stage and starts filling us in on the “happenings” at the church and throws in a little story time. He prays and hands the service over to the worship team. By this time, people are engaged and getting ready to get their praise on in service and it is time, the music starts.
It sounds like an easy and mundane thing, but I can assure you, it is not. Each and every service is new; you never feel the same. The Spirit never feels the same in each service. But as I am singing, I look out and see a face in the congregation that is starting to cry; the words are just what they needed to hear, and you can see all over their face that the Spirit is moving in them. I look over to another face and they are rejoicing, with a big smile on their face; the Spirit is moving them, but in a different way. Sometimes I can’t help but wonder what victory is being won right there in front of my face or what heartache is being healed. It is not for me to know, but to see is something extraordinary.
I stand there and under my breath and in my heart, I am believing with them… This is just a tiny piece of the view I have from where I stand; I could go on and on. Getting to see the Spirit move in each person is such an encouragement to me whether I am on the stage or out in the congregation myself. I must admit, one of my favorite times in praise and worship service is when I do get down off the stage and just let go and let God (for a lack of better words). Walking around the church and praying with others, there is truly nothing else like it.
Still, I must admit, I sure am blessed to have my point of view… So, I will end with a scripture.
“Praise the Lord! Praise God in his sanctuary; praise him in his mighty heaven! Praise him with a blast of the ram’s horn; praise him with the lyre and harp! Praise him with the tambourine and dancing; praise him with strings and flutes! Praise him with a clash of cymbals; praise him with loud clanging cymbals. Let everything that breathes sing praises to the Lord! Praise the Lord!” Psalms 150:1, 3-6 NLT https://bible.com/bible/116/psa.150.1-6.NLT
I love you Link Family! I look forward to the next time we get to praise and sing to our Lord together!
Just what I needed to hear today!
So proud of you Heather!!
